Joseph Cohen has attained a worldwide reputation for his depth of knowledge and expertise in Fine Antique Oriental Silver and Antiques. He has supplied many Museums and notable private collections, including the V & A and Asian Civilisations Museum.

Joseph Cohen Antiques specialise in fine antique silver from Asia, the Far East, the Indian sub-continent and the Middle East together with a selection of fine antique European silver and rare antiques. Amongst the various collections are many historically interesting and cross-cultural pieces. Most of our objects have been entirely hand crafted using a variety of highly skilled techniques including enamelling, gilding, niello, repousse, chasing, bidri, piercing and inlay. Objects range in date from the early eighteenth century to the early years of the twentieth century.

To direct you immediately to items which interest you and facilitate easy browsing, our stock is presented as a catalogue of ‘collections’ from different geographical regions and time periods. We believe this arrangement is unique to Joseph Cohen Antiques.

Above, the scrollable slideshow displays the various catalogue sections in alphabetic order. Naturally our stock is constantly changing, but in order to give you more idea of the range of items offered in some of the collections, please scroll down this page to access a wider selection of images.

We are very selective about the items we purchase and concentrate on those objects which we know to be authentic and which we believe to be outstanding in some way; whether that be quality, craftsmanship, design, rarity, historic interest or, as is generally the case, a combination of these factors. Each collection contains a range of high quality objects from the region, varying in age.

Joseph Cohen Antiques endeavour to provide you with a full range of details for every item. All our items have been fully appraised by Joseph, extensively researched and photographed from a range of angles. Within the individual descriptions, the finer points of the craftsmanship are discussed and the historical and cultural context explored.

We firmly believe in providing you with all the information necessary to make an informed and considered purchase as we want you to be delighted with any purchase you make. We are proud to say that we have many satisfied returning customers and hope that you will be amongst them.
