Three Niello bowls in different sizes. Two lotus shaped bowls attached to a round foot and one round bowl. All three are gilt and intricately decorated with a repeating floral design.

The niello technique is thought to have been introduced to Thailand by either the Portuguese or the Persians. Traders from both countries had an early presence in the Kingdom. Niello work became a speciality of the southern Thai city of Nakhon Si Thammarat.
